Section 2.9:  Data Protection

How Safe are my Personal Details?

2.9a      Data Protection Policy

We treat all personal information as private and confidential. This includes information about you as an employee, our customers and suppliers.

2.9b      Your Personal Information

Throughout your career you will be asked to provide us with personal information so that arrangements under your contract can operate. This information will be stored securely on computer and in manual files, and will only be disclosed to Directors, authorised employees or appropriate third parties. Sensitive information such as, health and ethnic origin will not normally be disclosed without your prior consent.

Certain information will be retained for a reasonable period after you have left the Company to ensure compliance with legal or other responsibilities.

It is important that personnel records are kept accurate and up-to-date and it is your responsibility to inform us of any changes.

Should you wish to inspect your personnel file, or have a copy of any information held about you on computer, you must request this in writing to the HR Manager. We are required to provide you with certain information within 40 days, although in reality it will be sooner. However, we will need to check the information held about you in order not to infringe a third party’s rights under the Act as certain items may not be disclosed without the other party’s consent.

You can also request that any data is amended if it is not accurate
